50L Crystallization Reactor

A 50L jacketed reactor that crystallises high-purity botanical isolates from a distilled feed under precise temperature and agitation control, with repeated recrystallisation for maximum purity.

Description

Crystallization

The 50L Crystallization Reactor turns a distilled botanical feed into high-purity solid isolate. With a large 50 L jacketed reactor, precise temperature cycling and controlled agitation, it grows clean crystals of the target compound and separates them from the surrounding liquor. Repeated recrystallisation pushes purity higher with each pass, all on an automated, repeatable cycle.

How it works

From distillate to crystal

A distilled feed is charged into the reactor and taken through a pre-programmed temperature cycle. Heating and controlled cooling, combined with steady agitation, drive the target compound out of solution as it crystallises. The crystals are then washed with solvent and collected on the integrated filter plate.

To reach the highest grade, the collected crystals are redissolved and recrystallised, typically two to three times. Each pass leaves more impurities behind in the mother liquor, so the final isolate is consistent, clean and free of residual unwanted compounds.

Purity in passes

Each recrystallisation lifts the grade

Pass 1Crude crystalFirst crystallisation drops the target compound out of the distilled feed.
Pass 2RefinedRedissolved and recrystallised, leaving more impurities in the liquor.
Pass 3High purity isolateA third pass yields a clean, consistent crystalline isolate.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

It crystallises a target compound out of a distilled feed under controlled temperature and agitation, producing a clean, high-purity solid isolate.

By recrystallising. The crystals are redissolved and crystallised again, usually two to three times, leaving impurities behind in the liquor with each pass.

A 50 L reactor with a 20 L ball flask, agitation up to 600 RPM and a filter plate rated 10-16 µm and 160-250 µm.

The heating and cooling circulator reaches -80 °C with ± 5 °C accuracy, backed by a 3500 W refrigeration circuit.

Yes. A PLC runs the programmed temperature cycle, and pressure transducers monitor the system and shut it down to prevent over-pressurization.
