Insights on low-pressure botanical extraction

50L Vacuum Drying Oven

A compact 2 cu ft vacuum oven that purges residual solvent and gently dries botanical extracts at low temperature under vacuum, protecting colour, aroma and actives.

Description

The 50L Vacuum Drying Oven is a compact bench unit for the finishing stage of extraction. Under vacuum, solvents and moisture evaporate at far lower temperatures than they would at atmospheric pressure, so it purges residual solvent and dries extracts gently, without the heat that would dull colour, drive off aroma or degrade delicate actives. Two heated shelves and ISO 9001 build quality make it a reliable workhorse for small batches.

How it works

Low heat, deep vacuum

Extract is spread across the heated shelves, often in temperature-rated mesh bags, and the chamber is pulled down to a working vacuum of 0.089 MPa. Under that reduced pressure, residual solvent and moisture boil off at much lower temperatures, so the material can be fully purged and dried while staying cool.

Tight temperature control, stable to about 1 °C, keeps the process gentle and repeatable. The result is a clean, stable, residue-free extract that holds onto its natural colour, aroma and potency, ready for formulation or packaging.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

To purge residual solvent and dry extracts. Under vacuum these evaporate at low temperatures, so the material is finished without heat damage.

A normal oven needs high heat to drive off solvent, which degrades delicate compounds. Vacuum lowers the boiling point so the same job happens cool.

A 50 L chamber with two shelves and roughly 5 lb of load capacity, with room for up to four temperature-rated mesh bags.

10 to 250 °C, held stable to about 1 °C, so you can dial in a gentle, repeatable drying temperature.

1400 W at 208-240 V on a 7 A supply, in a compact 710 × 570 × 540 mm bench footprint at about 16 kg.
